Revealing the true value of experienced executives over 45!

Discrimination against experienced executives over 45: a persistent barrier to employment.

Despite changes in society, longer careers and the legal prohibition of all forms of age discrimination, it remains a deeply rooted reality in the world of work.

The barometer on the perception of discrimination in employment reveals a worrying fact: age is the number-one discrimination in recruitment.

Nearly a quarter of people over the age of 45 say they have experienced discrimination during their working life.

These situations occur at all stages of the career path, but are particularly marked when trying to return to work after a break: 60% of jobseekers over 45 have been looking for work for more than a year, and almost a third for more than three years.

A quarter report having been turned down for an interview because of their age.

The effects of discrimination go beyond access to employment. It weakens career paths and affects mental health: 71% of people who have experienced discrimination report a negative impact on their well-being. Some leave their jobs, while others turn to protective measures or change careers, often in a climate of isolation.
climate of isolation.

Today, people over 45 account for a third of the working population. This proportion is set to increase significantly over the next fifteen years.

At a time when the aging of the working population is a major challenge for the years ahead, combating discrimination against experienced managers is not just an ethical imperative: it's an economic and social necessity.

Revaluing experience, combating stereotypes and securing career paths must become collective priorities to enable everyone, whatever their age, to remain active players in their professional future.
